影壁（也稱照壁、蕭壁）是中式院落入口正對大門設置的獨立牆面，主要功能是防止外界視線直接穿透院落，同時具有風水處理與裝飾功能。影壁的形式分為座山影壁（帶屋頂的獨立牆）、崖影壁（嵌入建築外牆）與牆影壁（嵌入院牆）三類。圖面主面常以碧琉、疊石、龍鳳、百福圖案為裝飾，工法上分為碧琉磠雕、玻璃錢拼貼與灰塑彩色三大類。剖面圖顯示影壁的層次構成：底座（須彌座式或素面石座）、牆身（磠雕裝飾面）與壓頂（瓦頂收邊）三層；立面圖呈現裝飾圖案的構圖、浮雕深度與整體比例。

The spirit wall (yingbi) is a freestanding screen wall placed directly opposite the main gate, preventing direct visual penetration into the compound while serving feng shui and decorative functions. Three types exist: the freestanding seat-mountain spirit wall (with its own roof), the cliff spirit wall (embedded in the outer building wall), and the wall spirit wall (embedded in the courtyard wall). Decorative faces feature rockery, dragons, phoenixes, or auspicious patterns in glazed tile mosaic, stone carving, or coloured plaster. The section shows the three-layer composition: base, wall body, and tile coping.

The coping of the Chinese courtyard wall is the critical waterproofing and decorative junction. Common forms include small grey tile coping, tubular tile coping, flower wall head (hezuoshi decorated coping), and courtyard wall with a complete small roof. The wadang (eave tile end) is the key decorative element — circular wadang are carved with lotus, dragon-phoenix, or longevity characters; drip tiles (dishui) control rainwater flow. Manufacture methods include grey plaster moulding, plain-fired, and glazed-fired.

中式傳統木樓梯的構造以「樓梯梁」（斜向主榀）為骨架，踏板以榫卯或釘接方式固定於樓梯梁上。踏板常用硬木（樟木、柚木、榆木），厚度通常為 40–60mm，表面經麗水或漆器處理。樓梯比例遵循傳統公式：踏面寬度通常為 260–300mm，踢面高度為 150–180mm，符合「兩踢加一踏等於 600–650mm」的人體工學原則。樓梯欄杆常以木雕裝飾，望柱形式分為瓶形、花瓶形等。

The Chinese traditional timber stair uses inclined main stringers (louti liang) as the structural frame, with treads fixed by mortise-tenon or dowel joints. Treads are typically hardwood (camphor, teak, or elm), 40–60mm thick, finished with lacquer or oil. Stair proportions follow the traditional formula: tread depth 260–300mm, riser height 150–180mm, satisfying the ergonomic rule of 2 risers + 1 tread = 600–650mm.

中式樓閣迴廊是樓閣層外周的權道空間，屋頂由上層屋簷延伸或獨立小屋頂覆蓋，地板則以木板或石板鋪設。迴廊欄杆的高度通常為 900–1050mm，欄杆間距不超過 110mm（安全要求）。望柱（欄杆主柱）以榫卯固定於地板榀或地板板，頂部常設木雕裝飾帽頭。欄杆形式分為瓶形望柱、尋杖式欄杆與尋杖加尋杖式三類，對應不同建築等級。

The upper-floor corridor (louxuan huilan) is the circulation space around the perimeter of the upper floor, covered by an extension of the upper eave or an independent small roof. Balustrade height is typically 900–1050mm, with baluster spacing not exceeding 110mm. The wangzhu (main balustrade post) is fixed to the floor beam by mortise-tenon joint, with a carved decorative cap at the top. Baluster forms include vase-shaped wangzhu, handrail-style, and handrail-plus-handrail types.

瓦當是瓦頂最外端的圓形收邊瓦，封閉筒瓦的端口並提供裝飾面。瓦當圖案分為文字類（壽、吉、萬歲）、動物類（龍、鳳、虎）與植物類（蓮花、忍冬、菊花）三大類，對應不同建築用途與等級。滴水瓦為半圓形，尖端向下，引導雨水遠離牆面。瓦當的製作工法分為灰塑模印、素燒燒製與琉璃燒製三類，其中琉璃瓦當色彩最豐富，常用於高等級建築。

The wadang is the circular end tile at the outermost edge of the roof, sealing the tubular tile ends and providing a decorative face. Wadang patterns fall into three categories: character types (shou, ji, wansui), animal types (dragon, phoenix, tiger), and plant types (lotus, plum, chrysanthemum). The drip tile (dishui) is semicircular with a downward-pointing tip, directing rainwater away from the wall face. Glazed wadang offer the richest colour range for high-grade buildings.
